I am missing something. Why does ChiCom cargo have to go to Mexico and then subsequently be hauled south to north across the US in Mexican trucks. Why not bring the cargo into a US port?

The American ports are unionized and have added costs.
The Mexican ports can use slave labor and do the same job much cheaper. Always follow the money.
