I have yet to see a "transgendered" person who is attractive. Oh sure, a man can spend thousands of dollars getting himself injected, medicated and "dolled up" to look pretty convincing as a woman but strip away the clothes and makeup and the end result is pretty disgusting. As for women wanting to be men, the results are equally as creepy. It just doesn't work.
And in either case, once you are over 40, forget about it. You end up looking like Robert Plant or Eddie Van Halen.
