Our AG has made this registry his platform. There’s no wiggle room, no extenuating circumstances.

Obviously there is “wiggle room” if your son was persecuted, I mean prosecuted, and the girl wasn’t. If you have two people committing the same act under similar circumstances and the State goes after one but not the other that is not equal protection under the law. That is “some animals are more equal then others.”

Even if you pursue it there’s no guarantee. What ever you choose, God bless you and good luck!

Apparently the ‘wiggle room’ is for the police investigator to bring charges and not the prosecutor once the charges have already been filed?

Who knows. Definitely seems like there is bias against males with a lot of these sex offender laws. The lawyer told us that cases like this are clogging up the system and are too punitive because we’ve swung too far the other way in lumping all this kind of stuff together under one ‘Sex Offender’ heading. Sheesh...when I was his age the entire football team could moon and no one was charged with anything! No one was damaged either as far as I could tell. Unless there are classmates in therapy today dealing with the effects of a bare male bum.
