Hurricane warnings have been issued for Dominica and St. Lucia as Hurricane Dean races westward into the Caribbean Sea at 24mph. This motion should bring the center of Dean near the Lesser Antilles on Friday. The increased forward speed of the storm has lessened preparation time for Caribbean Islands in its path. Hurricane Dean has favorable conditions to develop into a major hurricane over the next several days.

one of the kennedys wrote an article opining that the bible belt had been hit hard and that NO had been spared because it was such a progressive place, it was published a couple of hours before the poop hit the fan in NO if I remember correctly
And we've got plenty of time to get there.
Dunno why we don't have eyewall diameters from this group of Hunters.
Yes, there's lots of population below Brownsville. A landfall prediction in Mexico: between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos.
Saw a post earlier today from a Jamaican that said about all they could do is pray.
Ours would not/could not hurt either.
Amen to that.
Here's the main page and here's where you want to end up.
Caution, the 2nd link is BIG.

Just maybe he’s shifted enough to not hit Jamaica head on.

I think that was the red track,,,
mite go south of that one...
won’t miss by much...
It’s amazing how much a nice tall cold glass of ice water will cool you down. I always hated sleeping during a heat wave when I was a kid in St. Louis. People have ways of cooling down. In the tropics they shower three times a day or more, if they can.
As for the size, at 5 Mbit/s download, I don't much care about size ;-)

A little help is better than none. ;)
I knew you could handle it, but there are a couple of people here that can’t handle those. :)
We had those attic fans that pulled air & moisture throughout the house. Most nights we were cold before morning.

I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach reading the stormcarib reports from Jamaica. Godspeed, Jamaicans.

That’s what I *tried* to do when my A/C was out 3 times last week, but my skin got so dry and itchy I couldn’t stand *that,* either.
By the last time, when it got to 91° in my apt, I didn’t have the strength to lift myself off the sofa.
I have breathing problems anyway, and felt like I was suffocating. Apt’s don’t consider it an emergency to be without A/C! Most people have cars and can leave, I don’t and I couldn’t. We were in the midst of a Heat Advisory, I couldn’t even go outside - it was 110° Heat Index.
