For instance, DancesWithCats' Miss Molly Maguire (a beautiful cat indeed!) would, I think, be properly called a torty, since the colours are so mixed. But, she's got some patches too, so some would call her a calico.

Oh my gosh. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read your post. My calico cat is named Molly McGuire. How bizarre is that? LOL!

DWC, how old is your cat? Mine is 2 1/2. Here are some picture of my Molly. The first two were when she was a year old, and the last one was taken a couple of months ago. :o)

Thank you. Yes she is a gorgeous thing. And calico tabby is what they put on her medical records. Miss Molly kind of stays to herself, alongside me as much as possible. She's no social butterfly and yes, she resented terrifically Joey when he came along (Joey's bad attitude I put down entirely to Molly's slugging him right at the outside when he was a little tiny baby doll all sweet and ready to love ... then he ran afoul of Miss Molly ! poor thing) and she resented the four feral kittens when they came along. Now though she has mellowed and she will play with them and at times, cuddle with G.G. (Gray Girl) but she is NOT ever one to snooze alongside of or cuddle with any of them. A bit snooty, is my Miss Molly.

Here's G.G. ... (she looked so graceful and pretty with her new collar that she quickly ditched and I've never seen it again ... seven bucks!!! thank goodness for the chip)
