But over on the NFL thread, if you asked who won the baseball world series last year, most likely no one would know or care.

And go back to Ted Williams’ record; if he had spent his prime years playing baseball instead of being in the military, he would have broken Ruth’s record long ago. I don’t remember Mr. Williams ever publicly regretting his choice. And as I recall, he did pretty well in the military as well.
But would any team except for Giants accept Bonds? He’s loathed throughout the league even if he’s still productive.
For some reason, my mind’s eye sees him in a Red Sox kit next year, particularly if they fall during the playoffs.
