Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Didn't mean to stutter.
Suh-WING, better better...
That movie is 20 years old. I can hardly believe it.
Good Morning ALL -
That extra hour of sleep was much appreciated. Beautiful day here; LSA has been changing the clocks, I did my wrist watch, pondering changing the clock in hilander, hmmmmm. Glad the ‘puter changed itself.
Saw several other dog-walkers on our morning jaunt; got a notice from the city that we’re invited to downtown historic district open house, the staff will be on hand to answer questions and record our comments. We’re cynical enough to believe that no good will come from the ‘certificate of appropriateness’ process, time will tell...
Morning!
Miss Cat didn’t get the message about the extra hour. *Sigh* Guess I’ll have to take a nap later on. The BBQ is BBQ-ing and if I run out of charcoal it’s fallen branch cleanup time!
Cooking that shoulder?
Kin I come for dinner?
Halvah didn’t get the extra hour message either. At least she held out until six or so with the new time.
It should be done sometime around 3 or 4 this afternoon.
Miss Cat usually goes off at 5:00 so today she wakes me up at 4:00.
Zzzzzzzzz.....
Morning Win Mag - wow, have things changed from the days of a patch, some Hoppe’s No. 9 and a drop-through pull cord. Gotta get a new Brownell’s catalog, mine’s a bit dated. It wouldn’t take long to put the price of a rifle into ‘accesories’. Those are ‘series’ target sights. I totally agree with the ‘time and money’ issue re paper-punching.
Surpringly enough both the dog and cat let us sleep. However, since then the cat is doing the ‘wantstogoout’ then ‘wantstocomein’ loop.
For years our old neighbor disposed of all his fallen branches in his bbq grill but rarely bbq’ed. Pretty efficient actually.
I should have been building up a supply of hickory branches. The oak branches would do okay too.
Morning/afternoon all.
It just occurred to me how much I do not want to go to work tomorrow. I'd so much rather stay home and write. I've got some really mellow tunes on, I'm wrapped in a nice afghan, and have a really fat tabby cuddled up with me. And the words are just flowing... Soooo relaxing.
Yep. I got my word count up to 1039, and still going.
I’m still tryin’ to think like a creepy murdering stalker, and finding it a little difficult. I can’t imagine why.
So far he’s done nothing more deadly than making a peanut butter sandwich. Granted, that took him close to five hundred words, which is good, but it’s still not *quite* what he needs to work toward.
I got up over a thousand yesterday, but I’m focusing more on the story itself than word count.
Five hundred words for a peanut butter sandwich? The man’s deadly with a butterknife!
He’s not even using a butter knife. All he could find was a plastic spoon.
Come to think of it, that’s probably why it took so long.
Now he’s reading Robert Browning, which gives me a few stolen words, so there’s that.
Soo.....he stalks up behind his target and kills them with Vogon poetry.
Well...I was thinking more along the lines of a pick-axe, but Vogon poetry would be more graphic...
Turned out to be a great day for barbecuing! I just went and put some hickory twigs on the coals.....mmmmmm.....hickory smoke. I should lay in a supply of home-grown hickory chips.
