We are replacing the floor in our trailer.

I guess I'm surprised the boards don't run lengthwise?! Seems the real strength is in the axles, though I can't tell, and am sure those other supports are strong too. Is that how they ran originally?

Yeah, I was too, but that's the way it was made. A lot of cattle trailers are made that way too, but this is the only horse trailer that I've seen that way.

I was too but that is the way it was built. It has that large tack area that was made into a weekender sleeping area and the floor goes all the way up under there but since that did not have horses peeing on it it was not rotting.
