Sorry about Belle. Hopefully she’ll be OK if she doesn’t overdo... I’ve heard to avoid things like jumping up, as in to jump in the back of a pickup or up stairs, to avoid wear and tear. A friend with GSDs doesn’t let his dogs do either one till their two, and those are the good ones, that he’s training to sell to police depts for big bucks. He said jumping up is hard on pups hips.
Food for thought.
On another note... I got our mower running, so I’ve been out mowing, finally! The yard was looking like a jungle, at least in parts, where it’s coming back to life.
So my only spring fitness plan that seems to work is back on track, there’s lots of mowing to do.
Woohoo!! :)
Sheesh - all my pups DO is jump up!
When Shelley was spayed, the doc cautioned me not to let her jump. Then here she came being led down the hall, leaping sky high like a kangaroo at every step. I just looked at the doctor and kind of threw my hands out . . .
As long as she can be pain free (even if it requires meds) and mobile, we’ll be okay with it. I’m just praying it doesn’t progress.
So - with the mowing of your pasture you really will be getting exercise. I used to have eight acres of weeds and grass in NC - that is a lot of walking.
Mowing is something I have to start thinking about. Travis tuned up my mower last weekend. It’s just been to wet, and we have rain moving in this evening.
I received a letter yesterday from a member of my graduating grade school not high school, class. I attended a small Catholic School. An all school Alumni weekend. It’s been 40 years since we graduated, been that long since I’ve seen some of those people. I did attend high school with some of them, I’ve never had any desire to attend the high school reunions...I don’t think many from my class did, it was a very dude, class:), not a lot of school spirit, just let me the hell out of here types:) Me included, I hated high school. But this grade school thing might be fun, not sure if I’ll go or not...
