It went well. Ellie did real well, like I knew she would, and the girl kept her. Of course she's still got a couple of weeks to make her final decision, but I think she'll keep her. Carla and Derek seemed like nice people who'll take good care of Ellie. So while I'm here I'll post a few pics of the trip...
Ellie giving me a big snotty smooch as we waited for Carla to meet us in town and lead us to their place...
My last ride on her as I gave her a test ride for them...
Carla gives her a test ride with her own tack, with her husband Derek (in the red plaid shirt) and her FIL (with the beer) there to watch...
And they also had their farrier there. I think he was an uncle or something. I don't know what he was looking at in this pic. Maybe he thought there was something wrong with that foot because she was cocking it, but he was satisfied when her heard her rack down the pavement. He said "A man don't need no eyes when he can hear that sound. That says it all." :o)
Carla and Ellie...
And she and Ellie head off into the (cloud-covered) sunset on their first short trailride together...
Ah well that all looks real good! I hope you felt good about it driving away... even if it’s a little sad to say goodbye.
