Sandwiches and soup here. Too lazy to cook after helping a friend train her Boykin Spaniel this afternoon.

Poor dog has chased nothing but tennis balls and didn't know what a bumper was. But she improved rapidly, and after about 20 minutes we had her doing "depth perception drill" (bird boy throws the bumper left, right, back, and towards the dog) and returning the bumper 'to the area of the handler'. I sent them home with a couple of puppy bumpers, since my pup is retrieving full size bumpers now.

Took Miss Ruby out also to demonstrate the depth perception drill, and had my husband throw BIG for her - around 100 yards. That dog is a rocket! The Boykin broke and ran for one of Ruby's bumpers, she was 50 yards ahead of Ruby, and Ruby closed the distance and passed her like she was standing still. Like having a greyhound on steroids in the house.

Good morning, fairly humorless day here for us... many inches of rain overnight and high winds expected. Been up since 1:00.

Just fed the horses out in the pasture, it’s real wet, but they feel better out there.

Positive tall tree thoughts, as always, appreciated. We’ll check in as we can, ready to bug out if we need to.
