You read my mind!
I can’t wait to see it!
Becky, your daughter cut Matthew’s hair and Steve’s hair yesterday. She did an absolutely outstanding job on Matthew’s...a very “junior high” appropriate cut. He just looks great!
She also saw Oz.
Is Oz, the Cruiser, or the VW?
The old VW out in the woods is not really much to look at:), don’t get your hopes up to high:). I’m afraid if it was moved, or touched, it would just disappear into a pile of red dust:) It looks very fragile.
Becky
The Cruiser.
Tis purple.
;-)
Good morning everyone...
Going to the fair this afternoon. Weird Al in the evening :~)
Good morning to you too.
OOO the fair. Sounds like fun. What the heck is Weird Al???
Rocky is saddled, so I’m off.
Becky
Weird Al Yankovick... the singer who makes up funny lyrics to popular songs.
And have a good ride! :~)
Heeeeeeeey, the Fair and Weird Al are just too much fun for one day! I love his stuff, it’s SO funny. My favorite was “Just Eat It” which was a take-off of Michael Jackson’s “Beat it”.
I came to town this afternoon, and was visiting with Jenny. I don’t know if I mentioned this but the office for our towns newspaper is in our building just across the hall from Jenny’s shop. We’ve gotten to know the lady that writes all the articles for the paper.
Anyway, Jenny and I were talking about you all’s visit, and she heard us, and came over, and to make a long story short, she want’s to do a big story of you all’s visit here. She even asked if we could get a few pictures...LOL...So the evening we come down to the building to hang out and eat at Scott’s she is going to get us all together and interview us:) She says she may save the story for her big Thanksgiving edition:)
So you all are going to make the Bixby Newspaper:), I think that’s going to be so fun and cool:)
2J, there is an article in this weeks edition about a VW car show, that is going to be in town, is that the one you are getting ready for. I told her about your VW, because there is a picture on the front page that looks like yours. Same color I think:)
Becky
Cool!!
We took weed killer and burned a massive VW insignia in the field next to where the show is going to be.
Shee-willikers...I need to update my blog...we’ve gotten a lot done in the last couple of weeks and I need to post the pictures!
I think you asked in freepmail if it was near driveable. Unfortunately no. But someday we hope to get it repaired enough to drive! The day I hear the horn honk, now that will be a red-letter day!
Well make sure we all get a copy of the paper for our memory books! We will be famous! LOL.
Oh you bet I will, it will also be on the papers web site:)
Becky
That is pretty cool! Bunch of foreigners coming to OK!
That is going to be so cool. I’ll look forward to seeing the article - you will put it here, right?
LOL!! That’s so funny. They’ll probably put us in the “Strange News” section, right along with the 2-headed snakes. I don’t imagine that too many people would ever dream about traveling across the country to visit somebody they’ve never physically met. It’ll be fun!
Good morning:)
Hair, how was the fair?
Duchess: Oh you know I will take pictures of the paper, and post the link to the website story here. Anyone who wanted a hard copy of it I could mail them one. I think it’s rather a fun thing to think about doing. But let me warn you, the paper is a very very small town paper, and Mack and I have both commented that Jo, the writer of the paper, sometimes...well....sometimes her stories are not professional:), interesting, but very small town:) You all will find her interesting:)
My ride yesterday on Rocky was great. I did lope him a bit...that horse...he is such a bulldozer. I felt like even at his slow lope I was hurtling down the trail like a tank over very rough terrain. He does smooth out after a few strides, but it is still nothing like Harley, but it sure is fun:)
I wish I had had my camera with me last night. I went down to Jenny’s to watch her work her horses. She came up here with Dot and I taught her how to lunge the Clinton Anderson way, how to do the flexing exercises.
Her husbands horse has been a worry for all of us. He has not a lot of experience, and has bucked several people off, and has stood now for 2 years. They are trying to get him ready to go on their vacation in a few weeks to trail ride. And he is a big horse...16;2
The other day, Travis got him out and had some difficulty in lunging him, he bucked some, and he wouldn’t stop when whoaed. Jenny asked him if she could try. She had the same trouble so decided to try the things I taught, and she called me to tell me how amazed she was...that it worked the first time, as far as getting him to go and change directions. And on the whoa the horse is improving mightily, as she is doing the backing him up aggressively when he doesn’t whoa.
Jenny who hated this horse, is now saying they just never gave him enough of a chance. Travis’s family is slowly changing their philosophies about how to work with a horse. It use to be, when they first got this horse, sink spur, whip, chase, whatever. Travis’s dad is an old cowboy. I think because he is getting older he is looking for easier ways to work with a horse because he was one of the ones that this horse bucked off:). he can’t afford to hit the ground, He’s had both knees replaced too.
I really think this horse is going to be great if Jenny and Travis remain consistent in working with him.
Becky
I think it will be a hoot:)
But from what she is saying now, that could change, we will be her big Thanksgiving Day Story edition, (not sure how she’ll manage that, I think Halloween story would be better), so that puts us on the front page:) She wants pictures of us riding, on our hike to the cave, in town.
Becky
Man - If we're news, you must have a nice quiet town!
The fair was OK :~) Weird Al was fun :~) Got back really late and then had to break up a dog fight.
Oh no Hair, dog fight!! The pack get out of hand?
Pretty nice day. I mowed and weeded yesterday. The plans for camping and riding this weekend are canceled. No horse shows this weekend, so the kids just want to take a off "horsey" weekend. The lady with the Paso Fino, wants me to come try him out tomorrow and go on a trail ride. Still debating if I want to go.
Well, everyone that I have mentioned it to that you all are coming think it’s interesting:)
I’m getting the same reaction from some about having “strangers” stay at my house, as I got with going to your place and staying with a stranger:) “Be careful”:)
