I am assuming that the TV in the bedroom does not get the same amount of channels and the TV in the living room?
Correct. And of course, no box either. The box is called Explorer Pack.

It could be a toss-up between the box on the pole and the box on the TV set. Since the box on the pole is via a feeder line from a central source that also has the same signals that you receive in your bedroom, a higher probability exists that the failure is within the box on the TV set than the one on the pole.
