Deep, deep, oh is this, the dark blue sea
Washing upon the shore here beside me
And I watch hypnotic waves as they flee
Across the beach of Time seeking the lee

As on high the gulls cry as if in some pain
And on the horizon the clouds hint of rain
A conflict that mimics humans calm and sane
Or depicts the possibilities twix dull and fain

Meditating under an Arbor

As soft as silk the caressing breeze
Whispering among the flowers
Carries the scent of life in the garden
Under a cerulean sky we share

Amazing how we’ve come to care
And find so much at last to ken
Be it in a garden or an ivory tower
Or a bench under the linden trees
