LOS ANGELES — A 40-year-old man was mauled to death by as many as four dogs at the home of Ving Rhames on Friday, authorities said.

The victim, who hasn't been identified, had worked at the actor's home for about two years and was responsible for caring for the dogs, said Los Angeles Police officer Sandra Gonzalez.

Four mastiffs were seized by animal services, she said.

Police got a call at 7:15 a.m. from someone reporting a dead body at the home. Gonzalez didn't know who made the call.

The victim was found on the front lawn, she said.

Rhames, 46, who appeared in the Mission Impossible series of films, wasn't at home when the attack occurred, she said.

Was he read a bible quote before it happened?

Probably not... but it sure sounds like this guy got struck down by great vengeance and furious anger.

Then I see that face all I see is the guy who got gangraped in the basement of that Store in PULP FICTION.

Ving Rhames also starred in The People Under the Stairs which came out before Pulp Fiction. In that movie he got cut up by a character in a gimp costume.

And of course Bruce Willis came to his rescue even though he was in danger of being killed by Rhames!

The article doesn’t even imply that. They were running loose. These are very large dogs. Sometimes dogs just turn on people. 200 pound dogs can be difficult to control. Something to keep in mind when getting them.

In your experience thus far. Unpredictability is a fact of life. We don’t know what happened yet.

I do agree that “PACK MENTALITY” is probably very much alive in this situation.

No, we dont.

But I am wagering a bet that there was some aggression training going on.

Would these dogs be English Mastiffs? My next door neighbors have 2 of these monsters. My neighbors say they are not mean they are just stupid. I stay away from the dogs and they never run loose.

Oh I agree that it’s a possibility. I just want to see some actual facts before lumping it in with a a Michael Vick type situation. We don’t even have a cause of death yet. Things aren’t always as they appear.

He was also very good as the Secret Service agent in “Dave.”

Ving is short for Irving. Which one is rougher and tougher? :-)
