Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I just watched the film and I wanted to comment on it (and I certainly didn’t want to give this a new topic because of this film’s ignorance).

Part I was a hit job on Christianity. I have to admit that I was more than a little disturbed. A little fact-checking, however, shows that all of the claims (presented as fact) are not only based on huge errors in mixing up cause and effect, but that some of them are not just innocent errors but downright lies.

Part II was a hit job on our current government. 9/11 was an inside job. Considering that I don’t have any knowledge of information and considering the source (see my thoughts on Part I), I completely dismissed it.

Part III was an attempt to tie together various conspiracies:

Federal Reserve- While I might think that the Fed was founded out of the self-interest of some bankers (I can buy that as I see that in human nature), that hardly qualifies it to mean that it was an attempt to hijack the country.

JFK- Are you kidding me? The JFK speech was a complete ripoff of something else. JFK was giving the speech to the National Press Club and he was speaking of the war on communism (The Cold War). He was saying that there were some groups who desired to institute Communism in America and he was asking the press to use some discretion in what they report so that it would not compromise the greater Cold War effort. He further said that he wanted the govenrnment to remain transparent, if at all possible. This is the very same discussion we are still having about press reporting in the WOT. He was NOT talking about secret societies infiltrating our government. If you’d like the entire text of the speech, you may respond and I’ll give you the link to an official source.

Further on in Part III, the narrator attempts to explain how all of this leads to a one-world government and everyone being “chipped” in order to participate in the economic system.

Here, I had to pause for a moment. Why would the narrator attempt to undermine Christianity in Part I and then present (presented as fact, again) the exact prophecies made in Christianity? He undermines Chrisitanity and then validates it?

Further, he never even touches on WHY the future he believes will occur in the near future exactly mirrors dispensationalist Christian theology. This is a VERY BIG omission.

Surely, this is one of the most erroneous and contradictory films that I have ever seen.

The production is slick, but that doesn’t mean that it has any basis in fact.

That’s why I didn’t want to repost the topic (because I don’t want to give any further press to a film that is slickly produced but ever so deceptive.

I am very happy for your post. I friend showed me parts of it last night and sent me a link today. I have to say that it didn’t take more than a few sentences into the movie and my BS detector was sounding an alarm. I have been collecting information to send back to her for the last hour.

When I saw in the bibliography that they used the Truthers as a reference for the 9/11 segment I was not the least bit surprised. This is another attempt at creating discontent. I will continue to fight it at every turn.
