Publisher Nan Talese's Remarks on Oprah Winfrey
As they said in "The Godfather":
"It's just business.."
She is the most overpaid crap in America.
I watched this and laughed. I’ve always known this about Oprah. One of my dear friends is the ex wife of Hershel Walker(ex NFL football player) and she would tell me stories about how rude Oprah was, and that she was always mean to her for no reason. She said Oprah would make comments about my friends weight telling her she was to skinny. My friend was never to skinny, but Oprah was just jealous I think. Anyhow, my husband has met her a few times when she comes into Dallas and stays at the hotel where my husband works and he says she isn’t too nice either.
“It’s just business..”
That says it all.
While I’m in no way a fan of Oprah, I don’t see what this publisher has to complain about. Her client (the author) was exposed as a fraud after Oprah had promoted his book. Why shouldn’t she be mad?
Well, I wouldn’t treat them like they are garbage!
All that money sure didnt stop her racist ways
Would somebody please shut this woman up? In this case Im not talking about Oprah but Nan Talese.
Im no Oprah fan but Ms. Talese is just bitter because she got caught in a lie and misrepresentation just as her author did and Oprah to her credit, called them on it.

If I had so much money that I basically could tell people what to do and they would do it....I'm afraid to think of how I might treat them :)
I didn’t know Herschel was divorced. How long have they been divorced?
Wasn’t she a runner at UGA? What happened? (You don’t have to give
bad details.) Is he remarried? How many kids did they have?
Sorry, but I’m an UGA fan (class ‘80) with an enquiring mind!

She`s the Paris Hilton of the talk show circuit. Nobody can figure out what she does, only that she makes a lot of money doing it. Which is probably why she props up Hollwood stars so much...They can both relate to each other being incredibly overpaid for basically doing nothing while taking every advantage of those who do.
It has been about 5 years. he is not remarried, but she is. They have one son together and he will be 8 in October. What happened? Well, it was his years of infidelity. She couldn’t take the last affair he was having as it was with a close friend and neighbor. It was the final straw.
The woman he was having an affair with when they split is still around I believe. They have been engaged, but I doubt he will ever marry her.
Becoming wealthy does not change a person’s character. Instead, it just intensifies whatever character traits the person may have had before they received their wealth. So if some impoverished a-hole becomes wealthy, he’ll just become a more powerful a-hole after he becomes wealthy. The only thing that changes is his balance sheet, not his a-holeness.
Warren Buffet was the richest man in the world before Bill Gates toppled him on the Forbes list during the 90s. Although Buffet may have some pathetic political leanings, he is still the same down-home folksy person that he was before he became wealthy.
Bill Gates was a paranoid, power-hungry geek before he became wealthy. Even after he became the richest man in the world, he is still a paranoid, power-hungry geek.
So to extend this analysis to Oprah, the odds are strong that she was a bee itch way before she made it big.
I know a many wealthy people because of my husband and his job. Most are snobby, think people with little money are beneath them, but there are a few that are so nice and generous. I’ve always said that if I had money I would be nice and generous as well and never be full of myself. But I think your right, someones character is established before the come into money and doesn’t change regardless.
Thanks, I’m surprised. I guess I overestimated Herschel. I had a
friend married to Ray Goff and the same thing happened. I tend to
believe these people’s public professions of faith(just football players,
not televangelists) so I’m surprised when their private lives belie their
words. Not all football players, of course. Just ones from UGA. They
always seem closer to God. Or maybe it’s because I pray so much when
watching them. Oh well, another lesson learned.

I agree. What’s the beef?
