i think the biggest break-up of that ilk was the one between bill murray and ivan reitman. i read they havent spoken since "groundhog day."

reitman was the director. and maybe one of the writers. i guess the tension on the set between them was so thick, that they have not spoken since. but situations like that usually produce great work, as it did in this case.
