As FOXSports.com first reported earlier this month, sources confirm that a merger between Dale Earnhardt Inc. and Ginn Racing has been completed.
Four teams the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops with Martin Truex Jr., the No. 8 Budweiser with Dale Earnhardt Jr., the No. 15 with Paul Menard and the No. 01 with Mark Martin will travel under the new DEI banner this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Bobby Ginn will be listed as the owner of the Nos. 01 and 15 cars. With Ginn as the new owner of the No. 15, Menard automatically acquires top-35 status thanks to the points earned by Ginn's No. 13 car this season, meaning Menard doesn't need to qualify on time.

To me the biggest thing however is not mentioned in the article. Ginn had a sattelite deal with Hendricks Motorsports and all the Ginn ENGINES, Chassis etc came from Hendricks. and now, DEI has all that Hendricks technology to reverse engineer and learn from.
It also gives both DEI and Childress Racing a loo into the Hendricks engine program as DEI and Childress are partnered in engine building.
not sure who has the nascar ping list
PING!
I guess since they’re moving to Ginn DEI will become a museum like Tony Steart said a few months ago.
Oops STEWART
Yeah I saw that they said the operations will be moving to Ginn’s facilities. I guess you are right, the garagemahal will become the Dale Earnhardt Museum.
I just wonder what Dale Sr would say.
I doubt it would be words that could be aired on TV.
His vision to make that racing organization for his children is done.
I can’t believe they would move DEI from Highway 3. That place is huge. I have been there a couple of times.
Thee’s not much Earnhardt left there anymore except for the museum and of course their global entertainment division. BTW this whole mess started when she asked Jr if he wanted to be a racecar driver or an entertainment personality. :( What irony.
I think Ginn is fairly close to TEI in Moorsville. Pinging local info!!
GInn is on Hwy 115 in Mooresville, approx 5 miles from DEI.
From That’s Racin
“In a separate deal, DEI officials have talked with Martin about driving the organization’s No. 8 Chevrolet next season which is being vacated by Dale Earnhardt Jr., sources said. The result of those discussions remains unclear.”
MARK MARTIN DON’T DO IT. You will go out not with cheers but with boos. Save yourself!!! He’s Jr’s friends I doubt he will agree to this.
DEI is about 6 or 7 miles out of Mooresville “Race City”
Among the shops there are Penske, Yates, Roush Trucks, Jasper and a few others I cannot recall. Also in Mooresville is the Stock Car Hall of fame museum. A definite good stop with some great restored cars, a movie theatre, and other memorbilia.
The majority of the big shops are in Concord, Roush, Hendrick, Gibbs, Childress, pretty close to Lowes Speedway.
Not much left of Dale Sr for sure. He is probably rolling over in his grave. One heck of a waste of a good facility for a museum.
MM has been easing out of full time schedules and is NOT about to commit to this fry pan!
How about Shrub and SMoke as team mates.
I’m going to bed I have a headache. :)
Smoke will put Shrub into the wall every race LOL!
Early Silly Season will do that!
G’nite WCG
That is not what Smoke meant and you know it. He was talking about the business, not the building.
At least they won't be making a Clintonista wealthier like the traitor Junior!
Who is Hendrick going to give a million dollars to this election cycle...hmmm.... Can you say "HILLARY?!"
But what is a million dollars to Rick Hendrick? He just signed the traitor Junior, and will make that back twenty-fold in one year.
Accordint to ESPN, it is a done deal. Martin will finish out this year for DEI, AND race 22 races in 2009 for DEI, AND take over driver development duties for DEI.
I always knew I liked the guy!
And I bet his friendship with Junior had nothing to do with his decision.
The current DEI facility is landlocked, they cannot expand. They have been looking for a new location for over a year.
The Ginn garage is larger, and has more land available for expansion.
This is going to make DEI more competitive which will mean in the end more wins. I am sure Dale, Sr. has a grin on his face!
