You know, this makes me like Mark Hamill a little more. A lot more, in fact. Not that I've ever cared about him -- I thought he made a lousy Luke Skywalker. He was too whiny.

And I've watched -- and enjoyed -- the original Star Wars trilogy a zillion times. The later ones -- I saw the first one once, and it was enough. Jar Jar Binks should have been euthanized immediately.

But I met Lucas briefly for a day and to my very great surprise, didn't like him. Further, I got the impression that others around me didn't, either. It was bizarre. The truth is that if I hadn't known who he was, my instinicts would have said: "Steer clear of that guy."

On the other hand, I briefly met and spent a day around William Shatner. To my very great surprise, I liked him. I figured he'd be aloof and rude, but he was the coolest guy in the room -- always the coolest guy in the room -- without even trying. I liked him a lot.
