I have a cell phone, but I use it mostly when I travel. I always make sure I have it and have it turned on, as it has GPS in it.

I seldom use it, so it’s a pre-paid. I have to buy a card for it because the time has elapsed, not because I’ve used up the minutes. At least I can call my kids when I’m on the road and let them know I’m OK.

I take mine with me when I leave the house. Or if I go up the hill to the garden. But Nextel/Sprint has been calling to "expand" my options. If I WANTED more, I'd buy more. I already have walkie-talkie and 500 minutes that never get used. I don't EVEN want to learn to text. LOL

Now there's some scam going on on landlines. An unidentified number calls and says you're behind on an account. They then ask for all kinds of info and get you to make a payment by phone. The hitch is, they're scamming and use disconnected numbers that showup on caller ID.

I've started using whocalledus.com. I never answer if I don't recognise the number.
