That's pretty extreme. I also worked for a company that was common-sense averse. Too bad neither of us thought to implement the Scott Adams solution.

That's why I've always liked smaller companies. Much more common sense.
One of the "joys" here are the sites that are block by IT. I used Photobucket a bit for photos, but just as we were setting up a company camera club (for our site), somebody in corporate IT blocked Photobucket because somebody had seen something "racy" on it. They didn't block that account, they blocked the entire site. Well.. okay... it's not directly work-related, but still! I had to post my company picnic photos on Flickr instead...
