If you find that thread about the human who was burned you will see where it is explained that 3rd degree burns are not painful at all because of the nerve damage. 2nd degree burns are very painful.

As far as the idea that these efforts to save this kitten could be better spent elsewhere, IMHO, it's their time and money and they can spend it how they wish.

Also, I'm sure they would put Adam down if he had no chance of a good quality life or was suffering so badly. Just like they do with all other animals.

There’s going to be second degree somewhere under that third degree. I doubt there’s a clear cut line of demarcation between third degree and nothing.

Nevertheless, you’re right, it is their time and money and if people want to do that, it’s a free country and they have the right. I really don’t see the point though.
