The constant babble about a 'North American Union' is an indicator of something going on behind the scenes.
Real and definable symptoms of the forthcoming attempt at the imposition of such come from the lack of progress on a border barrier on the US/Mexican border, even though the presence of a real, physical barrier is evident to most anyone as a first step.
The prosecution, conviction, and incarceration of Border Patrol Agents without apparent consideration of commuting their sentences or of pardon also indicates a lack of resolve in addressing border issues other than to erase the borders.
Shipping interests and other global concerns which stand to make a huge profit from international trade (read: the destruction of American manufacturing) are all for being able to unload the container ships where there are no longshoremen's unions, no environmental regs, etc.
The popular science version of the NAFTA Trade Corridor, under whatever name, has been floated repeatedly.
The imbalance has been created here for their profit, with shipping costs apparently less than the cost of handling goods here.
That our security, at least what passes for "National Security" as we now know it, will further suffer from an open borders policy goes without saying.
This leaves us open to terrorist attack, which gives government another reason, should it happen, to rob us of our rights here at home (not to mention expand at our fiscal expense).
We need a passport now to go in and out of Canada (It wasn't that way not so long ago.), but the southern border remains a walk-in proposition.
Billions are not being spent on Canadian anchor babies.
In the end, the mishandling of the southern border's permeability and failure to address it cannot be attributed to mere incompetence.
Too many column inches have been devoted to the concept of securing the border, too many webpages, too many people have done what they could, and the Congress has been told in no uncertain terms what the people think of illegal immigration, pandering to illegals, and the status quo, for this to be anything but an intentional and planned act of undermining our national soverignty.
Every day they delay the problem grows worse, and the worse it gets, the greater the cry of "We can't fix it, it is too broken!"
For those Socialists and Globalists, I can only take a page from one of their playbooks and remind them that "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."
I think the first and foremost thing we have to do is push for the fence.
It has become more than a physical barrier, but a symbol of soverignty, of resolve to remain one Nation, not an entity subservient to yet another set of masters who rule with the force of law without any electoral recourse.
[For once that extra government is established, the next step is to tax us to pay for another government we do not want or need, and you can bet that is probably part of the plan as well.
There are already a bunch of us ticked off at the money which is extracted from our economy to keep the scallywags and criminals of the UN ensconced on some prime real estate. Pay for another government? one which will guarantee the loss of more American jobs and wealth? No way.]
Once the fence is built, deportation will have meaning. For all practical purposes, the border is a revolving door now.
There you have it. That would be their catalyst to invoke Martial Law and every right we are guaranteed as American citizens will be thrown out the window.
