Interesting that you have three of Basil Polidouris’ soundtracks there,
Quigley Down Under
Conan the Barbarian
The Hunt for Red October
For a list of Basil Polidouris work see

Did a lot of good work of original scores not just pulling singles.

Don’t forget Sid Vicious’ “My Way” during the closing credits.

Victory at Sea
IIRC, the team that started NFL films said "Victory At Sea" was the
inspiration for the musical portion of their audio.

I’ll also cast a honorable-mention vote for “Lawrence of Arabia”,
at least for the major theme.

There was a bunch I didn't mention:
'Monkey Man'
'Jump into the Fire'
'Atlantis'...
and don't forget Jerry Vale's memorable... 'Pretend You Don't See Her' ;) The songs go so well with the movie it's scary.

That is one of the great uses of a soundtrack. In the beginning, when the mafia was still primarily about gambling and prostitution, the songs were romantic. Then as drugs started entering the picture, the music reflected that, right up to the ending with Sid Vicious.

If there was one song in the track you'd equate Goodfella's to... which one would it be?

O Brother Where Art Thou was pretty good. Also liked the soundtrack to “From Dusk to Dawn.”

Probably Layla, that scene was pretty unforgettable.

I thought Danny Elfman did a great job with the Oompa Loompa songs on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
