Reading your profile page; I’m a different type of cyclist from the so-called norm; but I know, Portland and Seattle are just filled with them as well as cycling newsgroups.
I hope they get off their chamois covered cycling shorts behind and take note of this; since the image of many is of being the “green earth” type. There are plenty of cyclists around with some good sense. I mean it is a great invention.
