I didn't know that. That's impressive. I think a lot to do with that is not having a state income tax and a good business climate.

Texas has big ports (Houston), lots of rail lines (FW), centrally located (Dallas), strong energy/technology industries, strong agriculture business, good economic climate.

Geographically and economically, it's a great place for companies of all sizes.

And for the record, I agree there are more oil/gas companies in Houston. Many of the operators on the Barnett play are based in Houston.
