You say no rebuys or add-ons which is the normal for WSOP.. but if registration was open until 2pm today I wonder if somebody that got taken out last friday could still get back in??

Those numbers of 3000 players is a maximum, not acutal I read that just over 1200 entered in day 1a...

Here is part of todays press release from

The 55-event series, played at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, is now culminating with the $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold’em World Championship, commonly referred to as the Main Event. With 6,358 entries, this year’s Main Event is the second-largest live poker tournament ever played.”

In my opinion... if the US had not enacted the online poker ban, this year would have been more entries than last year
