"Back To You" (TV News Sitcom Stars Conservatives Patricia Heaton & Kelsey Grammer)
Fox.com ^ | Fox

In the ‘90s, the local TV news scene in Pittsburgh was dominated by one team: CHUCK DARLING (Kelsey Grammer, “Frasier,” “Cheers”) and KELLY CARR (Patricia Heaton, “Everybody Loves Raymond”). They had that elusive quality all news teams need: chemistry ... at least on-screen. Off-screen, Chuck was a bit of a self-centered womanizer, Kelly a bit of an uptight know-it-all. So when Chuck got the call to move up to a larger market, no tears were shed.

But after an embarrassing on-air tirade ended up on the Internet, Chuck found himself on the downswing career-wise. He even questioned whether his lifestyle of chasing women and living in hotels was as exciting as it used to be. So when he got the call to return to Pittsburgh, to reunite with Kelly and try to take the newscast back to No. 1, it was an offer he couldn’t refuse.

Back in Pittsburgh, Chuck has a new coworker in RYAN CHURCH (Josh Gad, “Mary and Joe”), the overstressed news director. There are also familiar faces like MARSH McGINLEY (Fred Willard, “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “Best in Show’), the affable, endlessly inappropriate sports anchor, and GARY CREZYZEWSKI, pronounced Kre-shoov-ski (Ty Burrell, “In Good Company,” “Out of Practice”), the perennially put-upon field reporter who always seems to get left out in the snow. But, mostly, there’s Kelly, now a single mom to 10-year-old GRACIE (Laura Marano, “Without a Trace”). There was magic between them once. Can they find it again?

BACK TO YOU is created, written and executive-produced by Steven Levitan (“Just Shoot Me!,” “Frasier,” “Wings”) and Christopher Lloyd (“Frasier,” “The Golden Girls”).

Shows set within tv newsrooms aren’t new but this one might have promise.

The last one that I recall was Lateline with Al Franken.

Palnned Parenthood has the supoort of almost all the upper class in the United States. Long forgotten are the days when Margaret Sanger was calling for controlling the population growth of the lower classes by passing out contraceptive devises. Now they are the mainstay of the abortion industry in the United States. But even in conservative states like Texas no one will touch their funding.

Do you think this is because these elites share the view that abortion is useful for eliminating undesirable monitories, as Sanger posited?

I’m a big fan of Fraiser and Seinfeld as well as Everybody Loves Raymond equally. Seinfeld and ELR were great to the very end but Fraiser jumped the shark for me as soon as Niles and Daphne got together. That ruined it for me.

You know, I have to agree with you, but even more than N and D getting together, I think the writing began to change after the first few years. I may be wrong, but I seemed to notice a change in tone and pace in the show. That being said though, I still enjoyed them, and even after their marriage, I watched to the bitter end if for no other reason than I really loved and respected the characters and the actors who played them.

Very interesting. My sitcom sacrifice was putting up with the mean spirited Debra character on ELR. I’m crazy about all the other adults on the show. But now I learn Heaton is conservative and gave a fortune to help avoid abortions so as of today I will start to forgive her.

Seems to be a very decent woman at least from the interviews I've heard. I'm looking forward to this new comedy, although I'm pretty tough to please. Wish some of the other Frasier characters would be picked up by other shows. Can't think of one that wasn't great.

A tad off subject but I am wild for Hell’s Kitchen. Yes, I know it can contain bleeped profanities. I’ve always been tickled by Don Rickles-like insults. It is on tonight. The first hour may be a rerun of last week which is fine by me. This afternoon I was reading articles about the personal tragedies surrounding Chef Ramsey. Talk about strange.

I was just saying...took me a while to figure out who it was. I was watching a bunch of DVDs of the new fall shows, and it didnt have credits or names or anything.

I could give away the plot of the first episode...but perhaps you can figure it out from the description in post 1.

Subconsciously, many think this, but they have also bought into the ZPG and radical environmentalist thinking that is a secular religion for many of them.

I liked Patricia Heaton’s work on ‘Raymond.’ I was just a little disappointed with her decision to get a little ‘work’ done...she looks nice, but nice in that HollywoodPleaseNoticeMe kind of way. She had great chemistry with Ray...I am sure she will have the same with Kelsey.

I enjoy that one also. Don't know why I haven't seen it that much this season. Can't remember if it's on in our area during something else I like. I've seen him on his British program where he has or had a show similar.
