Have you noticed? The Russian, or soviet block composers are some of the finest the world has seen.

Sweeping and all encompassing in their emotion.

Admirable adversarys.

I wish we could move this thread out of Chat for more exposure.

We have “daily threads” on the frontpage.
Why not a “monthly thead?”

FR is a big ol house isnt it?

He’s okay. I prefer Moussorgsky: Night on Bald Mountain/Pictures at an Exhibition

“Take my hand, I’m a stranger in Paradise....”

We once walked into a hotel on Paradise Island in the Bahamas as a very good pianist was playing Borodin to welcome visitors.

Thank you for my Sunday evening music.

Completely off topic but I just purchased the entire works of Bach on CD (155 discs) for $109. Shipping was $3.95.

I’ve long been a fan of Rimsky’s operas. I think I have at least one recording (some in pretty dismal Stalinist sound quality) of each of the operas. The operas also translate well to DVD. Le Coq d’Or, Mlada and Sadko are currently available on DVD.
