I can easily foresee a situation in which an advanced species would be unwilling to conquer a primitive one. In fact, I doubt very much we'd do it if we were the advanced species. Can you imagine the hellraising in congress if one of our spacecraft found a bunch of stone age primitives on a world full of useful resources? The liberals would be screaming "imperialism" until they turned blue in the face...

I don’t know if that’s the case, I don’t even know if we’ve ever been visited. I’m just saying with billions of stars and solar systems out there, the idea that there is no other life out there except on one small rock seems to me to be mathematically unlikely.

Now, whether those lifeforms fly around in space saucers or are just amoebas, I have no idea.
