Yes, the good old days! I remember walking or bicycling to the library most places we lived, but it’s not safe here; they’d have to cross the US Highway, which is hard enough in a car.

We lived on Main Street, and the library was also on Main. The pool was two and a half miles further, so it was on a “main road.” But it was rural, and what traffic there was wasn’t going very fast. (The town stayed at 4,000 people for 40 years.)
