Ah, yes. He starred in “Willow,” back when I was a teen.

He’s also one of the answers to my Harry Potter movie actor quiz questions: Which 2 HP actors are associated with a paranoid android? Davis was Marvin the Android while Alan Rickman served as Marvin’s voice.

It looks like the NYT wants to spoil it for everyone. Drudge says that they are reviewing early. I wish JKR would sue them out of existence.

All good FReepers avoid the NYT like the plague, anyway!

My kids are nagging to see the movie, but two are going to camp this weekend. Maybe I can take Bill to see it on Saturday, if things go well during the morning.

Well guys, I'm signing off. I'm taking the kiddies to see the movie today and then I'll be avoiding the computer, t.v. and newspaper like the plague until I've finished the book.
So, here's to a long life for Fred and George, Neville finding his strength, Snape being a good guy, none of our favorite characters turning into Inferius, the Malfoy's getting theirs, a spectacular death for Voldemort, Ron and Hermione together at last and a happy ending for Harry Potter! It's been a blast to theorize and speculate with you all for the last few months and I hope the book is all you were hoping it to be.
If a new thread is started to discuss the book would someone ping me please? See you all in a few days. Oh, and I'm betting a box of Bertie Botts that Tanniker is the first one to finish the book!

Just finished OOP.
Less than 600 pages to go. I think I’ll actually finish. :)

I loved The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant! Did you know there is a new series, The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant? The second book is coming out in October. I haven’t re-read those in many years, but I have re-read the Shannara books many times, as have all my boys. They are in the top five in our house. I don’t think your theory holds water, though. JKR has said she is not a fan of fantasy and hasn’t read anything beyond LOTR, if you can believe it. In fact (I can barely forgive her for this) she says she didn’t read The Hobbit until after SS came out!! So I don’t believe she would follow story lines that we would consider “typical” of high fantasy. Her underlying themes seem to come from Roman mythology. Kudos for an interesting idea though. (But JKR is a Jane Austen fan so I can’t be too hard on her :)

But JKR is a Jane Austen fan so I cant be too hard on her :) Did you hear Paul Harvey yesterday? He told about a guy who had sent 13 different books out to 13 different publishers and all of the books were turned down? They were all Jane Austen's books! He had changed the title and that was all. He was running an experiment. 1 day left!!!!

Good morning. :) Just one more day. Have you finished all the books yet?
To: EmilyGeiger
Yes, I’ve read them all at least twice. I just finished the tapes of PoA; it was very well done.

Cannot WAIT for 11:30!
Am heading straight home to finish Book 5, which (if all works out) means I should take care of Book 6 tonight and tomorrow morning, just in time!

No, I just don’t want it to end... I have been looking forward to the movie and book so much and now it is here. I will soon have to say good bye to what seem like good friends. If that makes sense.
I think I will try to read it slowly..... yeah, right.

At least there will be two more movies.
I felt the same way when Louis L’Amour died. Left a bunch of sequels “hanging,” too.
