I hope you enjoy the movie. IMAX films tend to make me airsick!
Don’t worry too much about spoilers on a film of a book we’ve all read :=).

In the Goblet of Fire toward the end of the book, after Harry watched Cedric die, it talked about the horseless carriages taking them to the train. Well, if he had already seen Cedric die then he would have seen the thestrals. Apparently, JK Rowling has said that it takes time for the death to "sink in" and that is why Harry didn't see them until the beginning of the next year.

Ah, well, these things happen ... I read a mystery novel recently, and a character's name changed from Rosemary to Rosalie a couple of times!

It happens. When the images of Harry's parents emerge from the wand, his father emerges before his mother. Some have tried to find a hidden meaning to that and that maybe what happened that night wasn't what everyone thought had happened that night.
In reality, JKR had made a simple mistake.

In the movie they seem to emerge at the same time after the Cedric and the caretaker. Maybe the director was hedging his bets.

Well, it looks like I won't be seeing the movie for some time now.
My son asked my wife if she wants to see the movie and she does. Except today's her birthday and that's not what she wants to do on her birthday (and I have no problem with that). But she's not likely to put major importance on seeing a movie, especially in the evening when she's tired. She likes the books and she likes theater, but she doesn't see a lot of movies. It turns out (which I hadn't realized) that she hadn't seen ANY of the previous 4 movies in the theaters. I thought at least one was a family outing.
Anyway, my son and I are leaving for camp for a week this coming Sunday morning. I hope we see it before then, but I'm not counting on it now. sigh.

LOL!
I saw the advertisements for the 12:01 sale at Wal-mart when I was over there earlier. A couple of my kids are going to a Harry Potter party at the library next Friday afternoon.

Thanks!
My sister saw it and asked me what it meant. For some crazy reason, she thought I was cheering on a tennis player that she hadn't heard of!
Obviously, she doesn't read the books...
