The countdown is on! We're all waiting. Let's talk about it while we're waiting.
This countdown ticks down the time to both the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film.
Countdown clocks can be found at http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/#static:countdowns
I saw that and it raised my eyebrows, too. Draco did seem very tormented in the scene on the roof with Voldemort. Like he knew he had to do it, but knew it was wrong. It sort of reminded me of what Sirius said about his brother- that he got in so far and then panicked about what they were asking him to do.
I guess in my mind, it comes down to is Snape good or bad, because from what we know at the end of the last book those two are on the lam together. If Snape is bad, then he will probably make Draco worse. If he's good, he'll probably sway him towards good. But will they stick together or split up? It doesn't seem like either side completely trusts Snape. Bellatrix didn't trust him and I don't think they told Snape of the plan to enter the school (I could be totally mistaken on that, but I thought when they had the discussion at the Christmas party Snape didn't know what Draco was working on and Draco wouldn't tell him). The only person who seemed to totally trust him was Dumbledore. But look how that turned out. ;-)
I think I read in an interview that JKR said that the death had to “sink in” for someone to see the threstrals. Because, technically, he should have always been able to see them since he saw his parents killed.
Anyone know how Dobby can apparate in Hogwarts? I always wondered that, or did I miss something? They had to lift the apparation thing in the Great Hall for their class, but Dobby just pops in and out wherever he pleases. And I can’t imagine how he even got in to Hogwarts to Harry in the hospital wing except to apparate...
PS I think Snape is good
Oh, Joe, so unwise to the subtle ways of the fairer sex!
"He's sooooo cute!" has many different meanings. True, it could mean "I'd hit it!" detected by the length of the word "so", a slight deepening of the voice, and a bulging of the eyes (or possibly narrowing, depends on the girl) . But it probably means....
It could mean, "He's cute like the toy panda my daddy bought me at the zoo. But I'd rather lick a toad then kiss him!"
Or it could mean, "He's cute like my puppy! But I'd rather eat the puppies food in public then even be seen with him!"
Or it could mean, "He's cute in a non-threatening brother or Mickey Mouse kind of way. We'll be platonic friends for life!"
You get the idea. :-)
I am right there with you. Not only can they apparate to where ever they want in the castle, but that’s how the food gets from the kitchen to the tables every meal, too. So, is it just for house elves? Or is it a rumor put out by the faculty -like when they say ink will shoot out of the fire alarm if you pull it- just to get the kids to stop doing it?
The house-elves are teleporting, not apparating :-).
Like in Star Trek? LOL
That was “transport.”
One could theorize that because the ability to teleport (as it were) is innate in the house elves, where it is not in humans, the restrictions on apparition don’t affect them.
Regarding their transporting the food, haven’t we seen some of the professors making things come and go (or am I thinking of a different fantasy series)? Moving stuff around would seem to be a different type of spell from moving yourself.
Lily put herself between Voldemort and Harry but Harry didn't see her die either because he was in his bed. Here, the movie differs from the book. The first movie shows Lily holding baby Harry right before she dies.
Harry's parents death had clearly sunk in by early in Book 2, when he tells Lucius Malfoy that Voldemort was, "a murderer, nothing more."
There is also a joke in there about seeking the golden snitch... LOL!
Y'all are on a roll!! LMAO!
I resemble that remark.
Even with no picture available, I’ll award you a Sigh :=).
Whoa! Getting a little risque for a children's book!
;-)
Draco might discover that it’s fun to act all evil and stuff, but it’s totally another thing when it’s time to do the dirty work.
Forget what you saw in the movie. Harry didn’t see his parents die.
