I’ve wondered if it’s his gram.

Forgot about his toad. He's the only one with a toad for that matter. Then again, I never really understood the reason for the toad or the rat. Owls deliver messages, but they've never used familiars in the books, so having one of those or even a rabbit or a falcon on your shoulder seems out of place.

Now on the one hand, I saw that it's been debunked that either Crookshanks or Mrs. Norris are animagi, but no mention of the toad.

On the other hand, would she pull the same trick twice? Maybe Luna will kiss it and it'll turn into a prince . . .
No, wait, the wizarding world doesn't have princes.

...Hey, that's it!! Neville's toad is a Prince! It's Snape's muggle grandfather! No wonder Snape hates Neville. It explains everything!

Nah. If anyone is a toad, it’d be Umbridge.

I have trouble seeing Neville's grandmother (Augusta, isn't it?) as a toad!

But it would be fun if Luna kissed Trevor and turned him into ... someone.

Well back in the old-time comics, Steve Trevor dated Diana Prince. Close enough.

I had a dream over the weekend that my copy of “Deathly Hallows” arrived a week early. I took it out of the mailbox, ran inside, locked the doors and peeked outside looking for the Barnes and Noble hit squads to come looking for me. I woke up before I managed to read it.:-(

I think you have to get them from Amazon.co.uk.

I downloaded mine off newsgroups, alt.binaries.harry-potter. they’re in mp3 format, at a low bitrate, but still good enough to sound ok, since it’s just spoken-word. The entire 25-disc set for Order Of The Phoenix fits on one disk! We like to play them in the van whenever we’re out driving. My kids have just about memorized all the books.

But dont they always mention that his grandmother is in a green dress with a vulture hat on her head? I think this way she can keep an eye on him.... but you may be right about her not pulling the same stuff twice.

Thanks, I'll try that. :) My kids have just about memorized all the books. Lol, me too. I listen to all the books at least once a year and read them every time a new one gets ready to be published. I am looking forward to the book, but really hate that this is the last one. But all good things must come to an end. :(

Ping! Didn’t see your name on the posts. Great countdown thread.

I'm lurking around! I've been trying to avoid actually working lately, but why is it when you decide you don't want to work that so much work flies your way immediately?

It was slightly cooler then the sun this weekend in the Chicago area, so we were inside a lot. There was so much Harry on this weekend! It worked getting me all psyched up for the next two weeks.

A & E had a recap of all the movies and the story up to OotP. It was good if you knew the stories, but for anyone who only watches the movies and doesn't read the books (like my husband! LOL) it totally gave away the entire plot.

I saw the AE special last night. It was pretty good, but you’re right my husband who doesn’t read the books said there was no need to go watch the movie now!! As if!@

Watched it, loved it.

My husband thinks there is something wrong with me. Although reading the books so many times must have taught me something. I was away all last week with the kiddos and apparently I was able to put a jinx on things. Anytime my husband got near something that need cleaned or washed, he remembered there was something else more fun to do... :)

My son just walked into the room to make plans to see it.

He checked the paper to see when it premieres. I gave him the task of asking Mom if she wants to see it one night this week (we're going to scout camp all next week!) and we'll get the tickets in advance.

It's hard to believe, but my wife hasn't seen any of the films in the theaters. I went with my daughter on a class trip to see the first one, and apparently I took the two kids to the next two, and just my son to the last one.

(I'm bringing my car to camp for the sole purpose of driving to WalMart and getting a copy of Harry Potter before I get home.)

Mine said the same thing! LOL! But the director was saying that the fight at the end is huge and spectacular, so I think that sucked him back in.

When I was reading OoTP, I was hoping that Fred and George would be in the movie more than the past movies. It appears they are. Yipppee!!
