Oh, what’s your issue with Emma Watson? She was a great young Hermione, and I don’t think she’s a bad maturing Hermione.

I think she’s good in the part, but her voice really irritates me. Just a personal quirk.

It comes to me naturally. Or maybe unnatuarally.

Then again, I remember some of the "shocking revelations" that were supposed to happen in "Return of the Jedi", based on references to Clone Wars (which I think was originally just a throwaway line) and other things. I heard the best stories about who was who's clone or distant family member.

The New York Daily News has a review online, from today's paper:

I just read an interview she did years ago and someone asked if she was going to do any prequels - she said she says no but everytime she does she changes her mind.

I think she would be a big hit with the boys if she did a set of books on the Marauders.

She'd be an even bigger hit with the ladies if she did a set of adult books on the Marauders ;)

Here, British director David Yates (TV's "Sex Traffic" and "The Girl in the Cafe") keeps the subplots, the over-sentimentality (most notably in a crucial death scene) and regular supporting cast (Emma Thompson, Maggie Smith, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman) firmly in check.

I don't know if that's a positive or not. I like the scenery-chewing supporting cast!

I like 'em, too, but when the movie is over 2 hours long, you do have to rein them in a little.

The funny thing is that as much as I like the third movie, that was the one that I thought was too short. Yes, it was over 2 hours and no, I didn't want it to be 3 hours, but an extra 5 to 10 minutes could have added a few extra explanations, particularly for those that hadn't read the book.

In particular, Lupin never revealed the origin of the Marauders Map or the names on it, so there's a little less symbolism to Harry's Patronus being a stag. Granted, they had no problem refering to Pettigrew as "Wormtail" in the fourth film, and everyone seems to know that name.

Actually, the overuse of "Wormtail" is indeed odd because they became animagi in secret and Wormtail went into hiding, remaining a rat for a dozen years. Only Lupin and Black would've known the nickname and everyone still believed that Black was villain, (Well, almost everyone) so why would the world at large even know that Pettigrew was still alive? His very existence undermines the charges against Black. (Yes, there were Muggles killed as well, but obviously something isn't right here.)

Don't mind me, this is actually the first time I've thought about this.

I always see the movies on DVD at home, so I don't even think about length. I can stop it whenever I want to, and come back the next day. It wouldn't have bothered me if "Prisoner of Azkaban" were 4 hours, because I could just watch it in sections, like a TV miniseries.

I agree - it's odd that everyone's using that as a general name. Why would Voldemort even have known that, or chosen to use it? He knew Peter Pettigrew long after school.
