The countdown is on! We're all waiting. Let's talk about it while we're waiting.
This countdown ticks down the time to both the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix film.

Fascinating!Isn't it funny how these people who come up with such far-out theories actually do a good job of backing them up?
I came across an essay about Dudley and Draco being switched at birth and thought "oh, please!"
By the end of the essay, I was almost convinced. :)
Thanks, now I get it...:)
I haven't liked HBC since she and Kenneth Branagh had an affair when he was married to Emma Thompson.
How could anyone be so mean to Emma Thompson of all people??
LOL! Yes, he does.
I really hope Neville gets to do something heroic in DH.
LOL!
OMG! Too funny!
I didn’t know he had an affair. Those saucy British. It was bound to happen I guess - I notice they all seem to be in the same movies together.
They do, don't they.
A couple of folks were in the Black Adder TV series.
A couple were involved with the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie.
A couple have (in separate movies, actually) worn nun's habits.
A couple have been married to each other.
A couple were in "Frankenstein" together.
(and others were associated with either "Dracula" or "Van Helsing" or something ... hmmmm, almost conspiratorial!)
Oh, and then there's "Doctor Who"!
It must have been old-home-week on the set :-). I love Kenneth Branagh as Lockhart; he’s hysterical.
So do I. For one thing, he's so much nicer than the other teens! He doesn't lie, or cheat on his schoolwork, or play pranks on people; he's just a kindhearted boy.
Your kids are adorable. Speaking from experience, (I'm the youngest of eight) your little guy is in for a wild ride. :)
Thanks! Vlad’s quite a handful already, with so many Bad Examples!
Okay, the legend of Rome’s founding is that Romulus and Remus asked an augur (makes predictions from sheep entrails) which of them would be king. The augur said Romulus would be king, so Romulus built a temple, a house, and a defensive wall and told his brother to beat it. Remus climbed over the wall to challenge Romulus, and Romulus killed him.
Most commentators, including very ancient ones, say it’s pure myth. However, a modern professor of archaeology in Rome thinks he’s found Romulus’s defensive wall. Others say he just found some bricks.
I do see any obvious connection to HP’s Remus, although the part about the prophecy’s triggering the events is interesting.
I put a tape set of “Prisoner of Azkaban” on reserve. Better than nothing!
I hope you get it soon, the tapes really are very good. Dale does a wonderful job on each character’s voice. :)
I’ll probably have it by Monday. The computer showed several copies available in the system, so it’s just a matter of getting one to my local branch.
It will be interesting to hear different voices from the movie actors’. Must say I’ll be glad I don’t have to listen to Emma Watson for the entire book :=).
With the last book in the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, due to release on July 21, several fake online versions of the book are popping up.
Even as the last of the Potter books, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows continues to be eagerly awaited by fans across the world, various online versions of the book continue to pop up, trying to cash in on the popularity of the character. While Rowling has reiterated that these are but fake versions of the book, there is no denying the fact that they are being curiously perused by fans. But do Potter lovers believe them to be genuine? How many fans are actually going through these e-versions ?
Opinions? Reactions?
Anyone want to read any of them?
Anyone want to write any of them?
I don’t think I’d read them, because I really want to know “what happens next” according to the original author.
I think there’s a place for other authors if the original author has died, or in a situation such as “Star Trek” that never had a single author or cohesive plotline.
His idea was to combine "A Series of Unfortunate Events" with "Harry Potter". Crazy idea. Damn him! The next day I had several pages written that I had to put on paper just to get out of my head. I then stopped dead when I spoke to him and he'd been thinking that the Baudelaire children would somehow wind up at Hogwarts whereas I morphed the HP characters into ASoUE charactes. It was ... interesting.
