Certainly the Pilot-In-Charge was just following procedures. In the event of a cabin disturbance, you get the plane on the ground first and sort it out later.
Frankly, a four-year-old raising Hell would be a pretty good diversion.

Yes, this wasn’t the fault of the pilot. But the idea that a toddler’s tantrum over apple juice could cost so many so much time and $$$ is incomprehensible to me.
