Most firefox users are also Linux users, and zealots.

I'm a Firefox user and am neither a Linux user or a zealot.

I switched to Firefox on my PC a few years ago, and have very few problems with pop-up or pop-under ads.

When I purchased my MacBook last year, the first thing i did was install FireFox. Safari just wasn't as pretty as Firefox, in my opinion.

If you like the browser that came with your system, that's great. But I know a whole host of FireFox users who are neither Linux users or zealots.
