And French parents must choose from an approved list. The laws are designed to prevent teasing.

The cost to society to change the name field in all those databases to alphanumeric is just too great.

My understanding is that New Zealand is every bit as left wing as any country you'll find in Europe.

You mean I can’t name my kid “B4i4Q RU/18”?
yeah, go for those “unique” names. studies have shown that names that are difficult/ immpossible to pronounce or will otherwise embarass the teacher tend to be ignored in classes, and fall behind.
