I was watching some of the action till I had to leave for church but from all I gathered, the loss was due to only one tactical error from Butterworth.
I hope all the races are close but my money is on the tried and true Alinghi......

Did anybody see the Alinghi foul in the final race. Nobody saw it and it is totally a crappy foul called by the Race Committee. Just before the second windward mark, when NZ made the tack to port, Alinghi immediately fell off by 10 to 15 degrees, making NZ’s calculations difficult and resulting the foul that cost them the race. When the TV did a replay of the computer tracking, it was totally obvious but nobody saw it. What a shame for Team New Zealand. There should have been a protest but it is too late now.
