Those taxes are included in cost of Distribution, Marketing, Refining and Crude Oil. If we use the ConocoPhillips numbers since they are in all phases of the drilling to gas pumps, that would put 16.5% of their total revenue goes to taxes.
A breakdown that took out the taxes at the previous process would look like:
Taxes on gasoline 13%
Taxes on other processes 14%
D&M w/out taxes 11%
Refin w/out taxes 24%
Crude w/out taxes 49%
Those are sample numbers, not to be used beyond this example. Reality is the taxes during the production of Crude are a much higher percentage of the total. But as an average compared to the total, 27% of the gasoline price is taxes is close to reality.
Does your average percentage include the taxes on labor?
It includes all phases of taxes, witholding for labor (federal taxes), the gas or any parts included in manufacturing that 1 gallon of gas and all those imbedded taxes along the way. 50% seems low if you include the imbedded.

Then why doesn't it show in the expenses of the oil company?
That was an example of all the taxes paid by ConocoPhillips in 2006.
because currently, their is nothing that conoco or any company does that tracks how much their “employee” pays in taxes to work, and I’m almost positive, that Conoco/Philips don’t include the imbedded taxes to get their product/deliver/refine it to you the consumer.
I’d like to see one that starts with the taxes paid by the landowner and goes all the way to your tank.
I'm very confident, that includes all the taxes they pay.
Federal motor fuel excise tax is 18.4 cents/gallon.
State taxes vary from 8 to 46 cents/gallon.
Local taxes -- almost all in socialist paradises, btw -- might add another 13-20 cents/gallon.
In the maximum case, total tax on gasoline is (very close to) 85 cents/gallon.
With motor gasoline averaging approx 2.96 (regular) at the pump last week, your ''50%'' figure is off by ONLY 74.11 %. 0.85 / 2.96 = 28.71 %. The notional claimed 50% = 1.7411 times the actual figure.
While motor gasoline taxes are extortive, to be sure, anyone believing #8 in the post is well-advised not to bother getting a life, but first to get a clue.

imagine, okay, dream with me for a second, Could you possibly think of the Political Revolution that would happen if we did send all the Illegal’s back? Personally I believe they would take our morals/values back with them and demand their government take heed of how we (U.S.) do things here. Thats WHY the teachers Unions have omitted the teaching of civics for many decades now.. in most places.. and even American History in other places.. Americans have been dumbed way down(from when I went to grammar school and high school).. and illegal and legal aliens remain dumb..
