I just saw a great example of why NASA costs so much to operate. A Gulfstream jet was launched from Edwards, into the CAVU California sky, to do a “weather reconnaisance”. After 30 minutes it came down to shoot an approach on runway 22, then went back up to stooge around a while longer and shoot one on 40. Reminds me of the blue cards with a hole in the middle, that we used to see for sale at airport coffee shops: “Hold card up to sky. If sky matches card, file flight plan.”
You clearly don’t understand why they did it.
It’s not BLUE SKIES - LOOKS GOOD... it’s actually 1,000,000 times more detailed than that.
The Shuttle - once it enters .. is a GLIDER and the GLF2 did the recon to find out more about the winds. If I can find the actual weather transition from Houston to Atlantis - I will post for your continued education.
Thanks for playing.
