The article you site is a Mexican thing--and as far as I know, has nothing to do with a Juneteenth celebration. Since I live here, I have heard a lot or radio news stories about the incident, but I've never heard a reporter connect it with a Juneteenth celebration. In fact, I have heard of no Juneteenth celebrations going on in Austin yesterday.

I can remember when June 19th was a really big day for Blacks to celebrate---and they put on some very colorful celebrations around east Texas, where I grew up. Years later, Blacks could take the day as an official holiday from work.

Correction—I stated that wrong—What I have not heard of is any celebration that was a purely Black celebration, as it used to be. IOW, I don’t think calling this a “Juneteenth Celebration” makes it a Juneteenth celebration. Looks like it has turned into just another excuse for bad behavior for people of other races.

There was a Juneteenth parade of some note in Austin on Juneteenth --- here's video.

There was also a Juneteenth parade down Congress Avenue on Friday.
