Some people like them with sweet peppers, some like hot peppers (not me) while some like them plain. It can very from store to store. A very bland beef recipe may need the extra oomph of hot peppers, while a very spicy recipe is good with sweet peppers or no peppers.
A suggestion. Get a large Italian beef. Put peppers on one half and leave the other half plain. That way you will get to try it both ways and see which one you prefer. You can test out the hot peppers the same way. Work your way up (no peppers, sweet peppers, mild peppers, hot peppers, jalapenos) - stop when you get to your preferred taste. If it gets to be too hot, take a couple of swigs of beverage, remove the peppers and continue.
Ketchup is acceptable - but only for children. ADULTS DO NOT PUT KETCHUP ON A HOT DOG.
If you are on a date, do not include onions unless your date does also.
Buena Park? I forgot to return a library book in Buena Park. I checked it out in 1976.
(You won’t tell anybody, will you?)
Bring the librarians some food from Portillo’s and maybe they’ll forgive you. :)
