70 mph on rough water? Wow.
Im sad about the litttle girl mostly.
Its a good thing you had your cell phone and called so quick or it may have been worse.
I am the father, and idiot as far as I am concerned who was driving the boat. The speed was gps at 50, when I hit the chop I slowed to 40 mph, then saw the big wave and turned into it. To other persons in a smaller boat it may have looked and sounded faster. The boat (29 fountain w/2-502s)should have taken it with a bounce but lunged to the right, and bow down ejecting us both. I only found out while in the hospital that the bottom hull had separated from the top. Suspect that an accident two weeks earlier that put a 3 foot hole in the side (not my fault) may have broken rivits along that side that caused the separation when the boat went up. But dont know for sure, still under investigation, I have not picked up the boat yet due to funeral, and broken leg. Alcohol was not involved. But I am certainly dealing w/ the loss of my beautiful daughter who hit her head upon ejection and will be tortured with the memory of the accident the rest of my life and can only wish it was me dead and not her. asta
