Partying, promiscuity, vanity and possessions are. Very few women (and some men) who are not guilty of the last two as well.
I'm surprised a pro-life, pro-culture war father of daughters doesn't see this.
Hilton's lifestyle is not on trial, of course I don't approve of it nor most of what passes for American youth kulture today but again that is all irrelavant in court. I'm not arguing about judge's authority here, but I have questioned his departure from his normal sentencing patterns for her. That is the only issue I care about with Hilton, the rest is not part of it for me anyhow.
thanks for the concise post btw....

"Very few women (and some men) who are not guilty of the last two as well." Agreed, but Paris is the poster child for these and I think, in her case, it is to an extreme level. I don't know many women who have pictures of themselves (almost exclusively) plastered all over their homes, do you? But you're right, vanity and materialism are on the rise, as I noted in the previous post -- specifically among our teens. Hilton is the embodiment of these vices. She promotes those vices.
"Hilton's lifestyle is not on trial, of course I don't approve of it nor most of what passes for American youth kulture today but again that is all irrelavant in court." Of course. But, again, you asked why I have contempt for her and I am telling you why. Just like you have contempt for Rosie O'Donnell and would not like it if her celebrity status got her out of a jail sentence. "I'm not arguing about judge's authority here, but I have questioned his departure from his normal sentencing patterns for her. That is the only issue I care about with Hilton, the rest is not part of it for me anyhow." OK, so why object to a thread that merely applauds her being sent back to jail? The outrage for us, and it was palpable all over the media, was the fact that she was given a pass on her sentence. We're merely applauding the fact that she didn't get away with it. I assume you think that is a good thing --- that she wasn't able to get out of her sentence.
