For what it’s worth, the sentence was not “extraordinary”. What’s the opposite of that? Ordinary, or so ordinary that it’s “extra-extra Ordinary?”
What was extraordinary was the Sheriff kicking a celebrity loose after only three days. I think he did this for two reasons. First, is that it is a HUGE pain, and expense, to have a celeb. with this high a profile at county lockup. She’s monitored 24-7 by at least one deputy, and a sergeant is never more than a few steps away, either. Second is that he wants to run for a state consititutional office ror US senator in the next couple of years, and he’s going to need to tap every possible source of money in the county and state to make that happen.
The last bit is what chaps my hide. Baca is such a money-grubbing twit that he’s willing to erode the integrity of the department for a few lousy campaign dollars.
Well, if the voters in California have half a brain, they won’t vote for him. I can see someone making some funny political ads about the way he panders to celebrities.
