"Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car..."

Now, really... Would they do that to the average Jane in these circumstances?

I don't know much about law enforcement, but I can speak about my jury duty in Southern California. When a witness didn't show up, they brought the witness in handcuffed. I suspect if the judge officially demands your presence and you ignore it, that's what happens.

you people are going to be sorry when she goes catatonic and ends up like Francis Farmer. She’s probably turning blue right this second.

Please. She was caught driving DUI and then driving on a suspended license without headlights. How long would you spend in jail for that? Apparently, for violating probation the sentence could be up to 90 days.

Yes I feel so much safer considering a woman was just sentenced to 210 days (with good behavior) and up to 3 years (is she continues to be bad) for shooting her husband in the back while he slept and their 3 children slept.

Since she has already served 5-months they say she will get out in 60 days....!

This is dumb. First its 45, then its 23, then its 3, then its 45 again. It is enough to make you scream. There should be an understandable law with clear sentences, whatever they may be. Unless she violated her parole, she shouldn’t go from 3 to 45 — even if she shouldn’t have gone from 45 to 3 in the first place.

I say add them together, and then double it.

Everybody gets handcuffed in California. It's really no big deal. Sometimes the police will handcuff someone on the street just to talk to them and then uncuff them. It just looks bad to see someone cuffed and feels even worse when you are the one handcuffed.

The sentence was 45 days. When she went in, she got an automatic one half off for ‘good behavior’. (If one is bad time can be added back on.) For some unknown reason, she was let out in ‘5’days (actually something like 40 hours). Apparently no one was able to justify the early release to the judge. She now gets nothing off for good behavior, and she spends 40 more days in jail, for 45 total.

Poor Baby. (She apparently also counted her chickens while they were still in the basket. (i.e. eggs))

Paris isn’t being treated like the average schmoe in comparable circumstances.

You are absolutely right. She was sent home because because someone other than the judge felt that jail just didn't seem to suit her. We should all be treated so 'fair'.

I’m very suspicious of Greta’s remarks. Is she positioning her show for endless visits from various Hiltons? If Paris Hilton is ill, it will now be up to the state to diagnose and treat her. In all of the pics and clips that have been paraded across my tv screen, Paris Hilton has not trembled even a little bit.

Her damn agent told her it was ok to drive,

Citing 'Medical' Reasons, Sheriff Sends Paris Hilton Home to Finish Sentence

She was pulled over by California Highway Patrol on Jan. 15. Officers informed Hilton she was driving on a suspended license and she signed a document acknowledging she was not to drive. She then was pulled over by sheriff's deputies on Feb. 27, at which time she was charged with violating probation.

MOST people get out of there within days due to overcrowding.

Hilton was housed in the "special needs" unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. She didn't have a cellmate
